Deciding on a price
There are many factors that determine how you should set the price for your book. If you price it too high, no one will want to buy it and if you price it too low you should sell it soon but you may not get as much money as you could. We here at Textbookninja.com have compiled a few tips to help you decide how you should price your book.
If you bought the book new from your campus bookstore a good rule of thumb is to price your book at about 50% - 60% of what you paid for it. If you're much higher than that it will be hard to find buyers for your book.
If you bought the book in already used condition from your campus bookstore or online, we recomend you price your book by the following table.
| Used Book Price | Suggested Sale Price |
| $100 | $75 |
| $90 | $65 |
| $85 | $60 |
| $80 | $55 |
| $75 | $50 |
| $70 | $45 |
| $65 | $40 |
| $60 | $35 |
| $55 | $30 |
| $40 and under | $20 |

This allows our search engine to index your book by a category which means that more people will see your ad.
Enter a course number:
Many people at your school will be searching our database by course number for your university. By providing us with this information more people will see your ad.
A buyer has made me an offer. Now what?
Good job! You have posted your ad and have gotten your first offer. Here is some advice for completeing the sale.
When you get the email offer from Textbookninja, you will see the potential buyer's information and a link to accept the offer. You then will be given the information to contact the buyer and set up the rest of the transaction
For safety reasons, we recommend you meet the buyer in a well-lit public place such as a library or even someplace on campus.
Request that the buyer either pay in cash or with a money order if possible. This protects you from the possibility of your bank charging you a fee if the buyer's check bounces.
After you have made the sale, why not try searching for any books you still need for this semester?
